Wondering only half wryly if the Pavilion Gardens cafe might be a viable candidate for an English Heritage Listing......
Sheltered by large, unpruned mature trees, with benches nearby and flat paving access, the space is gracious even with basic plastic tables/chairs arrayed about the frontage of the cafe itself and modest rock cakes and tea menu. It must be left intact and only given MORE SPACE if anything.
The loss of the museum's catering to a fancy dancy London lot whose offerings are as pretentious as they are expensive is perhaps a kind of foreshadowing of what might befall the pavilion gardens cafe. I fear the powers that be are intent on gentrification and never mind the hoi polloi.
